Intercessor - someone who acts as an intermediate agent in a transaction or helps resolve differences.

For more years than magicians can remember, one of the most powerful principles used in card magic has been the "torn corner principle." Gaeton Bloom has made this principle even stronger and more convincing!

The priciple is the same whether it is Gaeton's method or the original method. A card is selected, one corner is torn off and kept by the spectator, then the rest of the card is destroyed, it can be burnt, torn up, vanished or even posted to the moon! Just as the spectator is starting to wonder what the magician will do the magician points across the room to a window, stuck on the outside of the window is a playing card, the spectator's card! Of course, not only is the card found completely restored, but the torn corner that the spectator has been holding the whole time matches exactly, proving the restored card was the original selected card.

Of course the final resting place of the spectator's card is not only limited to the outside of a window, it can be anywhere you can imagine! Imagine pulling the spectator's card out of a lemon or a cigarette, or how about finding it inside a block of ice! The 'Father of Modern Magic' - Robert-Houdin used to perform the effect some 150 years ago and have the card appear locked inside a small safe buried under a tree! All of these mind boggling miracles work on the same principle, that of the corner switch. This is an ok way to accomplish this effect but beady eyed spectators may cause you a problem, also if the idea even comes into their head that a switch could have been possible then the effect is ruined.

From now on, thanks to Gaetan's amazing Intercessor gimmick these issues are no longer the problem. Gaeton's gimmick eliminates the need for any false moves and allows you to immediately repeat the effect if desired! This is what the spectator sees, they select a card, the magician then takes the card and tears the corner, before it is torn completely the magician hands the card to the spectator to complete the tear. The spectator holds onto the torn corner and the rest of the card is destroyed, this can be done by the spectator if you prefer. Even under these circumstances the card is found restored and somewhere impossible, the torn corner is matched and the card verified as the same card.
