You ask a spectator to name any card in the deck( No force of any kind, the spectator really can just name ANY card!). She tells you which card she has chosen. You remove a deck of cards from its box and fan the cards. There is one card face up in the deck -it is the spectator's freely named card!
Now, for the *second* climax. You prove that you knew the card to be selected in advance by showing that spectator's card has a different colored back than the remainder of the deck!
Here's a great presentation for the effect:
Pretend to hand a spectator an 'invisible' deck of cards. Have them shuffle it (always gets a laugh) and ask them to remove either the red cards or the black ones. Now ask them te remove one the the two suits remaining. Keep having them remove cards until only one 'Invisible card' is left in their hands. Now take the card from them ( careful you don't drop it! ) and pretend to toss it into your deck of cards that was on the table through the whole effect. When the REAL deck is spread, it's found that the spectators card has magically turned face up!
This is a real Bicycle brand deck that was handmade into a Brainwave deck. The familiar Bicycle look and feel will take the heat off the cards.
