In 1959 the Metropolitan Police - Service Intelligence Bureau ( S.I.B) distributed a confidential and classified 70 page booklet to all Detective Chief Inspectors.
It was a report that contained over 150 "profiles" of men that had commited multiple capital crimes (murder). Each entry has a detailed psychological "description" of the killer along with the names of several of their victims. .
The C.M.C.(criminal mind comparison) Report was used as a training tool for the Detective Bureau.

We've re-created this "profile guide" for you only our "guide" is...special.
The spectator has a free choice of any page and any entry. And...you will be able to name the killer!
All the "killers" in Sinister are also all the male customers in the pawn shop book WHITECHAPEL.
The names have all been re-arranged in the Sinister book so they do not appear together on the same pages as either HOMICIDE OR WHITECHAPEL.
The bottom line is, once you know the info from one book, you also know the info in the entries in the other books!

IMPORTANT: All three books are designed as stand alone effects, yet all three books can be used together to create a much broader and interconnected presentation that lifts the effect into a fully 'realised' piece of theater!
Sinister allows you to go into the mind of the killer and reveal how, who, and why they killed.
You do not need to know the page number (yes the pages are numbered!).
You do not need to peek the book.
The spectator has a free choice of any page and any entry. And...you will be able to name the killer!
The book is 4 1/2 inches X 3 1/2 spiral bound down the side and completely aged.

"Got home this morning at 6:00 A.M. There was a package on my front door step. Which was great because I thought that I would have to wait untill Monday to pick anything up. Get in and hands full, I ripped open the package with my Teeth. I find my next homework assignment. I open these smaller envelopes and there it was this dirty, old, dingy, small book. For a minute I forgot the concept of the effect. Because I picked up the package box again to see if it was out in the rain or something. But no it was My "SINISTER" book
These books are amazing in how authentic they look. I am very happy with them and cant wait to dig in and learn these effects and put them to good use." - Paisa23

"First, the book looks aged to perfection, much like your previous books.
Second, the information available is great. I can only imagine the impact when you can completly describe the person, where they hang out, psycholgical problems, family history, type of victems prefered.
Third, names of victems are included so we can link to other effects in the Homicide line if we wish, building an entire psychic detective act... Thanks again!" - Tony Iacoviello

"I have been working with this since Monday and find that the possiblities for presentaions, and reactions from people are incredible! The pure potentiality of Sinister surpasses everything that I've seen until now. This is extremely powerful! The appearance alone of this book is just too good. It has to be seen and held up close for oneself !
Sinister is a step up on the evolution ladder. Method and aging are becomming more sophisticated and advanced with each new release. Considering how well the first one, Homicide is as a stand alone effect in itself. This one looks off the charts. I can tell you this, Sinister is the best of the Trilogy. And it ties all of them (Homicide and Whitechapel), together in a way like nothing else that can be described. " - J Nesbit

"A copy of "SINISTER" arrived today!
Simply Amazing!
The creator Rick Roth is a genius mind spiral bound with extreme visual artistry.
I am of course just beginning the joy of digesting the notes, details and instructions on the C.M.C. profile book but I can assure you they are remarkable and knife point effective as ever!
Sinister like Homicide and Whitechapel are designed as stand alone effects but there is extreme beauty in the way they cunningly intersect.
They are like the three weird sisters "witches" of MacBeth...they allow you to clearly possess supernatural powers and a means to read the minds of living and deceased mortals.
Sinister is just real fun too Several paths to your required information.
This feels like a major release in Magic/Mentalism/Bizarre. Rick please consider doing a lecture tour...I'm front row and center.
I will have much more to say about Sinister with time...but I'm certain it will only be praise. I love it, I'm holding a work of very "sinister" art." - Eddie Garland

"This is a great addition to the series of book tests. It's not your every day booktest and those who are familiar with "Homicide" and "Whitechapel" know what I mean. It is a whole routine and not just a simple effect. It also ties to Whitechapel which which allows one to make it even bigger than it is. In the accompaning material It's mentioned that ideas on how best to combine the two books, Sinister & Whitechapel will be featured on their forum. The forum has been a great place to share and get some advice & new thinking from a lot of members. Although I will likely use it as a stand alone item as it should kill all by it's lonesome and I am anxious to give it a workout in the real World.
The look of the book is incredible and it's aged throughout and I can't see how anyone would doubt the authenticity of the book. It's something I have come to expect from this range. The attention to detail is fabulous!
I wish I could comment more on the "workings" without giving methods away. Those of you who have one or both of the previous releases will know what to expect. The clever thinking continues with "Sinister" but they have taken it up a notch in my opinion. You are able to reveal sooo much information while not having to spend any time digging. It's just not necessary.
It is not a toy and it will take you more than 5 minutes to do. However, I would imagine that those who have enjoyed performing the previous book test(s) will be able to slip it into the line up in short order. If you aren't familiar with Homicide or Whitechapel , it will take you a little time as you perfect your routine but based on my experience with both Homicide & Sinister I can tell you it's worth it
Congrats for another great offering & thanks for keeping it affordable - bobbyk

"Wow; now here's an effect that was well worth the wait. I wanted to say that the effect is unbelievable and incredible but those would be quite ironic as adjectives...
What makes this effect excellent is that it IS credible and it IS believable. The aging work has been done so perfectly that audiences will BELIEVE that the book is the real deal. The method is also diabolical and very well thought out. It is *not* an effect you'll perform right out of the box. This will take some work and practice to make it your own. It is the type of effect that lends itself very well to story telling and I can't wait to get started! I'm going to workshop this effect over the next few weeks and will post back once I've tried it with an audience.
I need to repeat though that the amount of detail that has gone into aging these books is just astounding. Roth has taken it to a new level - the coil shows rust, the pages show wear and tear; the pages look fragile - it just has all the little things you would expect from such an old book. I can imagine that these books will become a rarity soon and would urge anyone thinking about this effect to pick one up asap.
Highly recommended." - Alym Amlani

"My book arrived and looks absolutely fantastic! It looks as though it was published in 1959 and has been knocking about the backroom of a London borough police station. The cover of the book looks great (see the Outlaw web page for a picture) and the text is typewritten in an authentic font throughout. The pages are dog-eared and worn, and the spiral bound side looks old and well used.
The revelation system is easy to learn and organisation of information is very clever since it appears absolutely random. The spectators have complete freedom to choose the page, victim, and focus word. Yet, you can reveal so much detail about the crime and the killer. Apart from explaining the basics, the instructions give many examples of different revelations to show you how flexible the effect really is.
The presentation of this effect, like that of Homicide UK and Whitechapel, will make all the difference whether you use them all together or Sinister simply by itself. In my own view, Sinister is the strongest of the three and its presentation can be couched in the larger context of psychological profiling, which has not always been used by the police. You can become a mental Cracker, but one whose methods remains a mental mystery!
Overall:
Excellent value for money. The quality of production is very high. It looks completely authentic and is beyond suspicion. This is a book test with a dark and macabre difference.
Sinister is truly another masterpiece! 10/10
