The Classic Rising card effect has arisen again! Effect The performer displays a deck of cards, spreading them to show the cards face up and face down. The spectator selects a card, which can be signed, and it is returned to the deck and the cards are mixed. Now for the magic. Without any suspicious moves the magician holds the deck in his hand. All fingers are shown from both sides as a card begins to slowly and eerily rise out of the deck. When revealed, of course, it is the selected signed card. The rising card is one of card magic's most visual and stunning revelations. Many methods have been devised to perform the effect but mostly those methods have some sort of problem involved. Maybe it is that you can only use the deck for that one effect, it could be the length of time the gimmick lasts before it wears out or breaks, some methods even require a set up that can be knacky to say the least. The Zombie Rising Card is a gimmick that is extremely simple to use, durable and can be added to your deck but the real beauty of the gimmick is that it can be spread just like the rest of the pack, even dribbled!
Do I need a table? No. No table is required, which makes the effect ideal for walk around performances. Is this suitable for working conditions? Yes. In fact, its perfect. The beauty of an effect like this is that it can be performed in silence. Ideal for those noisy events where you would be hard to hear. Does the card need to forced? No. The card the spectator selects is not gimmicked. I am new to sleight of hand, will I be able to do this? Yes. Once you are familiar with the handling this will be a breeze, allowing you to concentrate completely on the presentation. Is it instantly repeatable? It can easily be performed almost instantly to another group. But remember you should never repeat the same effect twice for the same person! Is the effect angle proof? Yes. The card is seen to be rising from all angles with no funny hand movements. The deck can also be placed into the card case before the rise.
