Padauk - Origin in Cameroon. This is a medium to large tree attaining heights of 35m. Heartwood is a vivid red when freshly cut, toning down to a medium to dark purple-brown, often with fine black lines. Fairly coarse texture with interlocking grain.
Cherry - Origin worldwide. The heartwood of this tree is a pale pinkish brown with a straight grain and a fairly fine, even texture. Takes an excellent polished finish.
