Having collected card magic books from various periods throughout the 20th Century, the ones relating to ‘forcing’ are in most cases very dry and presumptive (in other words they assume that every reader is a world class card magician, when clearly they’re not - and even the greatest had to start somewhere) also the language or syntax is a tad outdated.
Now whilst I prefer books, I am open to other forms of educational instruction and explanation and video is a great method that suits my fastest absorption of information and helps facilitate its full comprehension. For this reason, ‘The Forces Project’ is superb.
It is rammed with routines, instructions, clear step by step explanation as well as background to effects, how to employ them and when. Liam’s Gentle and generous, easy-going style is a bonus and in my case has allowed me to try, and then master forces that I’d previously been aware of but had never considered using because I couldn’t make sense of how it could be used or why. It’s entertaining and enjoyable and well worth every penny of its ticket price.
It's hard to express how impressed I've been with this product. The sheer volume of content is incredible, watching it through in order, having sat through the volume of forces explained to then find how many routines were sat at the end... I kept thinking, "This is it, this must be the last one..." but no. All collected - and referenced - from a variety of sources, and across the ages - classic and contemporary sat side by side. Which does, of course, mean that it's not all necessarily new (particularly perhaps to those more experienced than I), but it is all in one place!
But we all know it's not just quantity - quality counts for as much if not more - and here it cannot be faulted: clear sound, good simple camera work, with very clear and precise instruction and explanation.
Genuinely cannot fault - this is an extraordinarily well produced piece, with a huge depth of content at an affordable price.
